Summer Visit - Friday, 06 July 2018
Botanic Gardens - St Andrews, Fife
We adopted a different format to our annual summer outing this year to include an evening meal at the end of our outing at the Bridge of Cally Hotel.
Also, to save travelling in individual cars, a coach was booked in the hope it would be a more relaxing journey for our members.
and to help our day run to time without anyone getting lost along the way.
We had many positive comments about this with one person saying she managed to have a sleep on the way back, something she couldn't possibly have done had she been driving........

After picking up our members from Ballater and Aboyne we travelled the scenic route taking us over the picturesque Cairn O Mount hill road which has tremendous far reaching views of the surrounding countryside. Our first stop was Brechin Castle Garden Centre for a brief 'comfort' break.
Our apologies to those who were hoping the comfort break would be long enough for a late breakfast.
We then motored the rest of the way to St Andrews where we had a lovely lunch overlooking the bay.
After lunch we did the short hop over to the Botanic Gardens where we received a warm welcome and an introductory talk before being guided around the gardens and hot-houses with a wander around the Butterfly House.
