14th October 2021
Due to ongoing Covid Restrictions, BRHS will not be holding their AGM this year.
If you have any objections to the postponement, please state them in writing to the Secretary by the end of October.
The consensus of the Committee is to hold it on Monday 4th April.
This would be allowed, although not in the constitution, due to exceptional circumstances. Public health and safety must take priority as a live meeting could not happen in a safe way and a virtual meeting is not possible because of lack of access for many.
A resolution will be proposed when the meeting does happen seeking retrospective approval of the decision to postpone.
The current committee will remain in office until the meeting is convened.
Jim Clark who has served as Chairman for 14 years has decided to retire.
Elizabeth Wilson who has served as Secretary for 10 years feels it is also time to step down.
Both have thoroughly enjoyed their time as officials and are grateful for the support they have had over the years.
A new Chair and Secretary/Secretaries (Elizabeth did the work of 4 previous Secretaries – Membership, Show, Publicity and Minute),
plus latterly finding speakers and organising the outings will have to be found if the Society is to continue.
Nominations must be received by the end of March 2022.
The following Committee members are willing to be re-elected.
President: Margaret Gennie
Vice Chair: Michael Rattray
Treasurer: Neil Allan
Evelyne Baikie
Morag Hood
Tommy Jackson
Amy Muir
Sabine Muir
Douglas Mutch
Anne Richardson
They can be re-elected en-bloc.
Any other nominations for Committee members must be received by the end of March 2022.
Any questions, please get in touch with me.
Kind regards
Elizabeth Wilson
Secretary BLHG

Covid-19 - Update, 20th May 2021
Plant Sale & Flower Show
2021
We're sorry to say, the difficult decision has been taken to
CANCEL the Plant Sale and Flower Show this year.
It was felt that, because of the uncertainty surrounding Covid, it wouldn't have been right to build up people's expectations then possibly have them dashed.
Hopefully 2022 will see the resumption of our talks and events.
Meantime, we hope you enjoy the Summer pottering around your gardens, whilst safely taking advantage of a little more freedom and looking forward to potential normality in the future.
Any information with regards to our future Programme of Events will be posted here in due course.

Covid-19
Due to the ongoing pandemic, all meetings
up to and including May 2021 have had to be CANCELLED.
The Plant Sale which normally takes place in June each year will be reviewed at a later date and information will be noted here in due course.
We realise this will be disappointing for many of you, but hopefully we'll be able to get back to our normal activities when restrictions are lifted.
In the meantime, please follow the Government Guidelines, help stop the spread of this terrible virus and keep as well as possible.
